Description
A self-assured cat leans into its morning ritual with quiet authority, wrapped in a hoodie and oversized sunglasses, holding a takeaway coffee like it's the only thing that matters. The scene feels instantly familiar — that fragile moment before the day fully begins, when identity, mood, and energy are still forming. What starts as a playful, almost meme-like image unfolds into something more intimate: a portrait of presence, attitude, and emotional armor.
Set against a loosely suggested urban backdrop, the composition remains minimal, allowing the character to carry the narrative. The cat's posture — relaxed yet deliberate — and its concealed gaze create a subtle tension between openness and detachment. There is humor in the exaggeration, but also recognition: the small rituals we rely on to face the world, to feel ready, or at least appear so.
Hand-painted in oil with acrylic markers on canvas, this 30 × 30 cm (12 × 12 in) original blends expressive brushwork with sharp, graphic accents. Cool grays, deep shadows, and reflective highlights contrast with warm fur tones and the rich coffee hues, creating a dynamic interplay between softness and structure.
Balancing irony with emotional clarity, the work captures a contemporary state of being — composed on the surface, quietly vulnerable underneath. It reflects the subtle performance of everyday life, where even a simple coffee becomes part of how we hold ourselves together.

Presentation
VICTO is an artist working in the realm of ethics and aesthetics, challenging the perception of everyday objects by striving to reveal beauty in all things. Inspired by David Hume's philosophy that beauty is a product of human consciousness, she believes it is crucial to break free from imposed models of perception and experience life in its entirety. Her art is rooted in minimalism and critical posthumanism, focusing on the significance of even the smallest details in the world.
Since 2021, VICTO has been actively participating in exhibitions and art fairs. In 2022, she took part in Miami Art Week and plans to do so again in 2024. In 2024, VICTO was involved in a three-week museum project titled Woman; Balancing Our World at the MoRA Museum in New Jersey, USA.
Having lived in many places, VICTO's travels have greatly influenced her work. She holds a deep affection for London and the breathtaking landscapes of Scotland. Currently residing in New York, she has also opened her own art gallery, with ambitions to participate in renowned fairs such as the Armory Show, NADA, and Untitled in 2025.
