Artwork location: France
A new breath emerges after the saturated heat of summer. In this profusion of organic forms, stylized flowers and suns dance in deep black against a radiant yellow, like nature reinventing itself. Free lines, spontaneous energy: an ode to renewal, where each motif seems to vibrate with fresh, carefree life.

Biography
A multidisciplinary artist at the crossroads of street art and calligraphy, Woo is based in Bordeaux (France), where he regularly exhibits his work.
Brutality of the graffiti, softness of the art of calligraphy but also Cyrillic alphabet or hieroglyphs... Woo plays with symbols, without always having a symbolic impact.
Inspired since childhood by the graphic universe of Keith Haring - the artist exhibited for the first time outside the American walls at the CAPC in Bordeaux - or Nikki de Saint Phalle, Woo's production is characterized by a technique mixing acrylic paint, pigmentary inks, Posca, gold and silver leaves.
His preferred media are paper, wood or canvas. Large or small formats according to his desires. Woo advocates an instinctive art. However, some of his recent paintings deal with contemporary societal themes that the eye in its wandering will be able to identify by the symbol.
His pseudonym evokes both his Asian roots and his experience in Hong Kong. Within the group Le Comptoir and aboard his flagship restaurant Bibo, where Woo drowns in the works of Banksy, Murakami, Arsham, Ron English, Jonone, Basquiat, Invader, Hirst, Kaws, Shepard Fairey, André, JR and many others.
This initiatory journey culminates in the Art Basel Hong Kong exhibitions, an absolute concentration of creativity and inspiration.
Woo is a jack-of-all-trades. Music, furniture design - in particular in collaboration with New Yorker Karim Rashid -, interior design... He has been working in Bordeaux for the past ten years in multidisciplinary activities.
The artist Woo is exhibited in the Galerie Bordelaise
_______
From Thursday, January 9 to Saturday, February 22, 2020, Bordeaux artist Woo will be at the Pop-Up Store Michard Ardillier. An opportunity to discover a work inspired by street art, calligraphy and Keith Haring on canvases, drawings and screen prints.
_______
For the beginning of the year 2020, Michard Ardillier gives carte blanche to the Bordeaux artist Woo to invest his Pop-Up Store at the Galerie Bordelaise, at the corner of the streets of Maison-Daurade and Piliers-de-Tutelle.
Woo will be offering a selection of his work there, with a dozen large-format canvases as well as A3 drawings and 50 x 70 silkscreen prints.
For the event, the artist - who is also a furniture designer and interior architect - will entirely decorate the space with his universe imbued with the brutality of graffiti and a taste for symbols and instinctive writing: calligraphy, hieroglyphics or the Cyrillic alphabet.
The pop-up store will welcome the public every day from 12 to 2pm and by appointment.
