“Created in April 2026, *Désillusion* (Disillusionment) is arguably one of the most striking and symbolic paintings from that year of the artist’s work. Through this figure, imbued with a sense of disillusionment, Zafi conveys a feeling of profound disappointment regarding the social climate in France—a climate that has steadily deteriorated, reflecting an era defined by uncertainty, shattered illusions, and a loss of trust. Far transcending its immediate subject, this piece stands as a powerful pictorial testament to our times.”

(This painting, held in a private collection, is featured in the prestigious French magazine *Connaissance des Arts*—2026/2027 art market special edition).

Black floating frame included!

This vibrant, Cubist-inspired artwork depicts fragmented human figures in a dynamic, brightly colored scene. The central figure, wearing a blue hat, is accentuated by touches of red and green, expressing both movement and stability. Thick black outlines create a striking contrast, defining the geometric forms and inviting the viewer to explore every detail. In the background, floral motifs add a touch of softness to the painting, while the other figures, in exaggerated poses, instill a sense of dynamism. The bold use of primary and secondary colors enriches the composition, capturing the essence of modernity and abstraction. It is a thought-provoking work, a perfect blend of complexity and visual harmony, celebrating formal and chromatic diversity.

The scene: A very tall man sits leaning on a small table, having smoked cigarette butts.

Her expression seems blasé, dejected; she is disillusioned, perhaps by this chaotic world or simply by the woman who is behind her in the background; perhaps it is simply a couple in crisis… It is up to you to interpret the scene.
