This black-and-white portrait of Jacques Brel captures the Belgian icon's intense emotion and timeless presence. Presentation
HMI, whose real name is Fouad Hachmi, is a painter, graffiti artist and caricaturist from Brussels. A pioneer in the world of Graffiti, he quickly joined the Hip Hop collective CNN199, active for almost 25 years. He is one of the most talented graffiti artists in Belgium.
HMI has exhibited in Belgium, Europe and Africa. During this period, he notably participated in the Délit2Fuite exhibition (Belgium), the Festa2H Festival (Senegal), the Matissa Festival (Morocco), the Festival Theater aan Zee (Belgium) ... He also produced numerous frescoes, notably in the IAM studio (France) and Espace Magh.
In 2011, he exhibited at the KVS 39 portraits of personalities who influenced him: a personal consecration and recognition of his artistic work.
In 2013, it was in the private White & Art gallery in Ixelles that he offered an exhibition dedicated to his character Spider on the Ceiling, the common thread of a new discipline: press caricature. His sense of caricature was noticed by the newspapers La Capitale and Le Soir, which published several of his drawings.
At the end of 2015, he started a major international meeting tour around Graffiti. He has notably visited Milan, New York, Dakar, Dubai, Paris and Morocco.
