Description

A quiet golden sunrise rises above a blue coastal lagoon. This original oil on canvas artwork was painted from life at Blue Lagoon near Padang Bai on Bali's eastern coast. The artist set up the easel while the landscape was still dark and followed the gradual arrival of dawn as the light shifted across the mountains and water.

Broad, textured brushstrokes describe lavender-blue hills, cool turquoise reflections, pale cloud forms, and a small golden sun emerging near the horizon. The composition preserves the changing atmosphere rather than precise geographic detail, giving the scene an intimate, expressive character.

This one-of-a-kind plein-air artwork is ideal for collectors of coastal landscapes, Bali-inspired art, textured seascapes, and contemporary impressionism. It can bring calm color and a sense of travel to a living room, bedroom, office, coastal home, or gallery wall. It also makes a meaningful gift for a traveler, ocean lover, or someone connected to Bali and quiet early mornings.

Presentation

Mily ART (Emiliia) is a contemporary painter based in Ubud, Indonesia. She graduated in 2015 from the Russian University of the Academy of Education in Moscow with a degree in Fine Arts.

Working primarily in oil with a palette knife, Emiliia creates expressive impasto paintings defined by rich texture, bold color, and dynamic movement. Her visual language is built through thick layers of paint, flowing drips, and energetic strokes that emphasize the physical presence of the medium. The surface of the canvas becomes an active field where color, light, and gesture interact.

Nature is the central source of her inspiration. Flowers and landscapes encountered during her travels transform into emotional landscapes—vivid, blooming compositions that reflect vitality, freedom, and renewal. Her ongoing series Flowing Flowers explores the sensation of awakening life, using intensified hues and sculptural impasto to convey emotional release and movement.

Emiliia often begins with plein air studies or travel photography, later developing these impressions into large-scale works. Rather than reproducing nature, she translates its energy into tactile color fields, allowing paint itself to embody growth and motion.

Her work has been presented in international and national exhibitions, including The Color of Summer at the Ostankino TV Tower (2024) and The Flower Kingdom at the Moscow Union of Artists (2022), where her painting Peonies received First Prize. She held a solo exhibition at IZO Gallery in Moscow in 2019.

Through expressive oil painting and sculptural texture, Emiliia creates contemporary works that celebrate the emotional power of nature—inviting viewers to slow down, feel presence, and reconnect with color as a living force.
