Description
A surreal scene sets on cracked ground. A boat rests in the middle of an arid land. The vessel seems incongruous in this desert landscape. On its side, anthropomorphic characters direct the race. A large toad in a suit guides the boat. He displays a serene expression. Beside him, a companion smokes a pipe calmly. A striped awning protects the passengers from the sun.
The composition plays on the contrast between the suggested liquid element and the surrounding dryness. Insects fly around the structure. Every detail is treated with meticulous precision. The warm colors of the sky reinforce the dreamlike atmosphere. The pictorial rendering emphasizes the textures of worn wood and rusty metal. A tire and a buoy are attached to the white hull. At the front, a thick rope is coiled heavily. A small character watches the scene from the cracked ground. The whole creates a strange and captivating visual narrative. The diffused light unifies the space and accentuates the depth of the field.
Presentation
Born in France in 1985, Mike, known as Ziké, grew up in an environment deeply rooted in art thanks to his father, who was passionate about airbrushing and American culture. It is in this creative setting that he developed his artistic sensibility.
In the early 2000s, Mike discovered spray paint, a medium that quickly became his tool of choice. Using this technique, he created increasingly ambitious murals, transforming vacant lots and abandoned factories into true works of art. These places, often hidden from view, offered him the time and space necessary to refine his creations.
Today, Mike evolves from the wall to the canvas, a medium that allows him to explore finer details and project the viewer into his personal universe. Each of Ziké's works is a story without words, funny, sometimes caustic, populated by incredible characters straight out of cartoons, US comics, science fiction films and staged in equally improbable situations.
At the same time, he is actively involved with his collective in the organization of various urban art exhibitions, thus promoting street art and its artists.
