Description
A surreal scene sets in an arid landscape. An anthropomorphic amphibian dominates the composition. It sits on a mechanical seat suspended by a massive spring. Its posture is relaxed. It wears urban accessories. A white cap, high-top sneakers, and beige shorts complete its outfit. In its hand, a spray paint gun projects a cloud of white smoke.
The work on textures brings striking realism. The character's grainy skin contrasts with the metal and leather. At its feet, a gray rabbit attentively watches a screen. Further away, a second character plays the guitar under a hat.
The artist uses a palette of earthy tones and ochres. The gray and cloudy sky reinforces the strange atmosphere of this painting. Banknotes litter the ground, adding a narrative dimension to the whole. The precision of the line emphasizes every anatomical and mechanical detail. The whole creates a unique visual narrative where the everyday shifts into the imaginary.
Presentation
Born in France in 1985, Mike, known as Ziké, grew up in an environment deeply rooted in art thanks to his father, who was passionate about airbrushing and American culture. It is in this creative setting that he developed his artistic sensibility.
In the early 2000s, Mike discovered spray paint, a medium that quickly became his tool of choice. Using this technique, he created increasingly ambitious murals, transforming vacant lots and abandoned factories into true works of art. These places, often hidden from view, offered him the time and space necessary to refine his creations.
Today, Mike evolves from the wall to the canvas, a medium that allows him to explore finer details and project the viewer into his personal universe. Each of Ziké's works is a story without words, funny, sometimes caustic, populated by incredible characters straight out of cartoons, US comics, science fiction films and staged in equally improbable situations.
At the same time, he is actively involved with his collective in the organization of various urban art exhibitions, thus promoting street art and its artists.
