Description
A plunging view captures the moment. The gaze sweeps over a beach where ochre sand meets white foam.
The space is divided into two clear chromatic zones. A deep turquoise green dominates the composition. This colored mass evokes the immensity of calm and clear water.
A few human silhouettes punctuate the waterline. These miniature figures emphasize the scale of the landscape. They float, suspended between the land and the sea.
The artist uses acrylic to create a textured surface. The brushwork brings a subtle relief to the canvas. The composition plays on a rigorous balance between horizontal masses.
This approach tends towards abstraction. The figurative subject becomes a pretext for an exploration of color and form. The light seems to emanate from the heart of the blue-green, creating a sense of serenity.
The work explores the simplicity of a summer moment. The contrast between the warmth of the sand and the coolness of the water structures the image. The visual rendering focuses on the purity of the lines and the saturation of the pigments.
Presentation
Jean-Philippe Berger is a French artist born in 1968 in Dijon. After working in the field of Research and Innovation, he has devoted himself fully to contemporary art since 2007, the year he founded the Open Art Galerie. A gallery bringing together around thirty artists presenting varied works.
Jean-Philippe Berger's initial approach was based on mixed media work combining collages, acrylic paint and spray stencils.
His works revisit icons of popular culture and art history: superheroes , cinema figures or timeless myths intertwine to create new visual narratives. Torn posters, torn photos and graphic elements are meticulously assembled to compose scenes at the crossroads of Pop Art and Street Art.
The artist invites the viewer to dive into a vibrant universe where every detail tells a story, between homage and reinterpretation.
Over the years, his work tends more and more towards abstraction. The figurative elements that appear in the painting are the starting point for an abstract composition where the balance of shapes and colors is at the center of his research.
