Description
In this work of magnetic presence, Tani Telas orchestrates the dialogue between earth and water. A mass of golden ochre, worked in relief and engraved with undulating striations, emerges in the heart of an azure fluid. These sinuous lines, drawn with precision, infuse an organic rhythm into the matter, evoking the passage of time or the imprint of a current on the mineral.
The background unfolds a swirling movement where blues intertwine, from luminous turquoise to the abyssal depths of midnight blue. Whitish passages come to cleave the composition like lively foam, bringing breath and graphic contrast to the canvas.
The whole rests on this fertile tension between the textured density of the central motif and the flowing movement of its environment, embodying a quest for balance between anchoring and escape.
Presentation
In the workshop of Tani Telas, in Corsica-du-Sud, the Mediterranean becomes pictorial material. The artist develops a prospective abstraction there, tense between architectural rigor and instinctive gesture — a writing recognizable in all, where emotion becomes architecture.
His work unfolds in four complementary bodies — Sillages, Altérités, Vivances, Rémanences — which alternately explore memory, encounter, the living of the depths and the coast, and the intimate resonances of memory. Each canvas imposes itself as a rare synthesis between pure emotion and the permanence of cultural roots.
With more than 200 works and a dozen exhibitions, Tani Telas is today among the singular voices of Mediterranean contemporary abstraction. Acquiring a canvas from the Tani Telas Signature is to make the choice of a inhabited work, where every gesture carries the memory of a territory — and to join a process of transmission that the artist extends through his commitment to patronage.
