Description

A graduate of the prestigious National Higher School of Visual Arts of La Cambre in Brussels, he acquires a rigorous technical mastery very early on which he puts to the service of an overflowing and erudite imagination. His path is marked by a constant fascination for history, ancient civilizations, and mythological narratives, themes he notably explores through his artistic collaboration with the fantasy archaeology magazine Kadath.
His style is distinguished by the creation of timeless and mysterious universes, where the clarity of classical composition dialogues with the strangeness of the dream. Painter of silence and enigma, he deploys pure landscapes, often deserted, inhabited by symbolic architectures or majestic allegorical figures. Through meticulous work of flat areas and a subtle chromatic palette, Gérard Deuquet suspends time and invites the viewer to a poetic contemplation at the frontiers of the fantastic.
