Description
A chromatic explosion saturates the space. The gaze plunges into a dense field of fragmented touches. Pink and red dominate the composition. Splashes of orange and yellow bring a solar light.
Some touches of green come to punctuate the whole. These shades create a subtle and rhythmic contrast.
A network of fine and sinuous lines runs across the surface. This yellow stroke emphasizes the movement and links the colors together.
The material seems accumulated in successive layers. The accumulation creates immediate visual depth.
The whole evokes a stylized nature or a confetti shower. The repetition of organic shapes establishes a visual cadence.

Presentation
Somsak Chaituch, born in 1967 in the hills of northern Thailand, is a contemporary painter whose work is built between two cultures. Raised in the heart of an intensely colorful tropical nature, he retains from his childhood the rhythms of the landscapes, the vegetation, the rice fields, and Thai culture. At 27, he joins the Netherlands to study art: after a course at the Utrecht Academy of Arts, he continues his training at the Dutch Art Institute and obtains a Master of Fine Arts in 2003. His path is quickly distinguished by several awards and the support of the Amsterdam Foundation for Visual Arts.
