Description
A powerful exploration of gesture and contrast. The canvas breathes through a stark monochrome palette. Deep blacks clash against a luminous white background. Broad, rhythmic brushstrokes create a sense of urgent movement. A central oval form dominates the composition. It acts as a portal, drawing the eye inward toward dense, abstract shapes. The energy is raw and visceral. Spontaneous lines intersect with heavy blocks of pigment. In the periphery, calligraphy-like marks hint at a hidden language. These glyphs add a layer of intellectual mystery to the visual chaos. The layering of paint suggests a process of addition and erasure. Every stroke feels intentional yet liberated. The balance between void and mass creates a dynamic tension. It is a study of equilibrium and emotion. The composition avoids symmetry to emphasize a living, evolving energy. Light reflects off the varying thickness of the ink. This variation adds a tactile dimension to the flat surface. Each curve leads to a new discovery. The artwork culminates in a series of bold, horizontal sweeps at the base. These anchor the floating forms with a grounded intensity.
Presentation
A self-taught artist born in 1990, Jenna Loubens lives and works in Tel Aviv. Her practice bridges painting, textile, and design, merging movement and matter into living compositions. Through the integration of typographic forms, she transforms writing into a visual language — a passage between the tangible and the spiritual. Influenced by her years in Paris, Berlin, and Los Angeles, she approaches creation as a vital process of transformation beyond concepts.
