Description

"Jump Ropes" is a painting about carefree childhood, neighborhood friendships, and joyful moments that stay with us for a lifetime. Three children absorbed in play transform an ordinary urban courtyard into a space of freedom, happiness, and imagination. Lush green trees, warm sunlight, and quiet residential architecture evoke the atmosphere of a peaceful summer day. Created in acrylic on canvas (50 × 70 cm), the work is painted in a loose, expressive style with dynamic brushwork. The painting combines elements of Contemporary Figurative Art, Poetic Realism, and Contemporary Impressionism, exploring themes of childhood, nostalgia, memory, play, and the beauty of everyday life. Upon the buyer's request, the artwork can be professionally stretched on wooden stretcher bars and delivered ready to hang. "Jump Ropes" brings warmth and a sense of nostalgia to any contemporary interior, recalling a time when happiness could be measured in a few joyful jumps over a rope. Shipping is at the buyer's expense; the canvas will be sent in a tube. Alternatively, I can have it stretched onto a wooden frame at my own expense—in that case, it will be shipped in a box, already stretched on the frame.

Presentation

Nina Timoshenko creates paintings in which familiar reality quietly slips into the impossible. Working with a deliberately simple, almost naive visual language, she transforms ordinary objects, figures and situations into unexpected relationships: apples become blue, camels walk on water, and human figures appear strangely ungrounded.

Beneath this apparent simplicity lies an introspective practice exploring inner silence, duality and the experience of being out of sync with the surrounding world. Timoshenko uses poetic surrealism not as an escape from reality, but as a way of revealing the psychological states hidden beneath everyday experience.

Her paintings exist between the familiar and the irrational, where ordinary images acquire a second, more ambiguous meaning. The apparent simplicity of her compositions contrasts with an underlying psychological tension, creating a visual language that is both accessible and open to interpretation.

Rather than explaining difference or “otherness", Timoshenko creates a world in which it can simply exist. Her paintings invite the viewer to enter this slightly displaced reality and recognise something deeply familiar within it.
