Description
A hybrid composition where national symbols and dreamlike figures intersect.
The central portrait divides the face into two chromatic zones. A deep blue opposes a light turquoise blue. This stylized face, with simplified features, seems to bear the traces of a fragmentation.
The background plays with striking contrasts. On the left, a linear drawing evokes the aesthetic of Jouy paintings with its landscapes and birds. On the right, the flag of the United States asserts itself with its red stripes and starry field.
The subject wears a saturated red garment, adorned with repetitive spiral patterns. Two red hands surround the neck, creating an immediate tactile tension.
The artist uses bold black lines to define the contours and accentuate the graphic design. The superposition of patterns and color blocks creates a singular visual depth.
The treatment of the gaze, with a wide open and detailed eye, anchors the scene in a psychological dimension. The whole is closed by an ochre yellow border that frames the scene.

He discovered his passion for drawing at a very young age. But it was during his second year at animation school that he painted his first canvas, in the depths of the 17th arrondissement.
