Description
This artwork, displayed on a skateboard deck, presents a striking design. Dominating the composition is a bold, stylized eagle rendered in a sleek black silhouette. The eagle spreads its wings wide, symbolizing freedom and strength. Below this powerful motif, the text "TRANS SLAM" is prominently positioned in a modern, industrial font, enhancing the dynamic energy of the piece. The board's natural wood grain subtly peeks through the background, creating a raw, organic feel that contrasts with the clean lines of the graphic. The minimalist color palette of black on a wood tone ensures that the imagery remains the focal point, drawing viewers into its captivating simplicity. This artwork captures the spirit of skate culture with its emphasis on rebellion and individuality. This skateboard deck, showcases a bold, streamlined design. At its center is a powerful black eagle emblem, wings outstretched in a striking display of symmetry and motion. The eagle, with its sharp lines and dynamic form, evokes a sense of speed and freedom, perfectly encapsulating the essence of skateboarding. Below the emblem, the words "TRANS SLAM" are printed in an assertive, futuristic font, adding a modern touch to the overall design. The deck's background is a subtle gold hue, providing an elegant contrast that enhances the dark details of the eagle and lettering. This artwork transforms a functional skateboard into a statement piece, combining art and sport seamlessly.
Presentation
My name is Michael R. Grine and I am an process oriented artist. I use a combination of found objects, acrylic paints, and aerosol paints to create abstract patterns on wood and canvas.
Statement
Curiosity. Emotion. Experimentation. Exploration. Leap of faith. Pursuit of knowledge. These words only begin to describe what my art signifies or represents. I was born an artist and have always identified myself as an artist. I possess an insatiable creative drive to make art out of the images I see in my mind. To help satisfy this impulse, I am always exploring new places and trying new things. Having freedom of expression and not being limited to one style or technique of making art are paramount to my identity as an artist. I love the many different processes of making art and experimenting with new ways of creating art.
My inspiration stems from color, music, literature, and the excitement about the unknown possibilities of taking everyday objects and using them in a way that differs from what the manufacturer intended. I use a combination of found objects, acrylic paints, and aerosol paints to create abstract patterns on wood and canvas. Some of my methods include combining different chemicals and paint on paper or in plastic or wood box frames to distort vivid colors that are mixed or thrown right on the canvas. The result is the distortion of lines and contours, and layers of translucent or opaque paints on the canvas or in random patterns.
