Description
This captivating artwork is a stunning example of minimalist abstraction, utilizing a harmonious blend of form and color to evoke an intricate visual experience. The piece exhibits a radial gradient of blue emanating from a central point, meticulously crafted to resemble an ethereal burst of energy or a celestial body. The central region features a finely detailed, pixelated pattern that suggests a point of intense focus and precision, contrasting with the softer, diffused edges of the radiating lines. The artist employs a diverse range of blue hues, transitioning from a bright, concentrated core to a fading perimeter, effectively creating a dynamic sense of depth and movement. The radiating lines, varying in thickness and opacity, draw the viewer's eye outward, imparting a sense of expansion and infinite reach. This interplay between the concentrated center and the expansive outer elements showcases a masterful control of spatial composition and color theory. The artwork’s simplicity in design belies a complex understanding of visual perception, as the repetitive patterns and gradients play with the viewer's sense of focus and perspective. It is an evocative piece that invites contemplation, as the viewer is drawn into the seeming paradox of a singularity that expands infinitely. The precise execution and the ethereal quality of the colors make this work a unique and compelling addition to contemporary abstract art.
Presentation
My name is Michael R. Grine and I am an process oriented artist. I use a combination of found objects, acrylic paints, and aerosol paints to create abstract patterns on wood and canvas.
Statement
Curiosity. Emotion. Experimentation. Exploration. Leap of faith. Pursuit of knowledge. These words only begin to describe what my art signifies or represents. I was born an artist and have always identified myself as an artist. I possess an insatiable creative drive to make art out of the images I see in my mind. To help satisfy this impulse, I am always exploring new places and trying new things. Having freedom of expression and not being limited to one style or technique of making art are paramount to my identity as an artist. I love the many different processes of making art and experimenting with new ways of creating art.
My inspiration stems from color, music, literature, and the excitement about the unknown possibilities of taking everyday objects and using them in a way that differs from what the manufacturer intended. I use a combination of found objects, acrylic paints, and aerosol paints to create abstract patterns on wood and canvas. Some of my methods include combining different chemicals and paint on paper or in plastic or wood box frames to distort vivid colors that are mixed or thrown right on the canvas. The result is the distortion of lines and contours, and layers of translucent or opaque paints on the canvas or in random patterns.
