Description
This captivating still life artwork features an exquisite assortment of mushrooms, meticulously arranged to highlight their intricate forms and textures. The centerpiece is a woven basket, casually tipped over, allowing a tumble of enoki and shiitake mushrooms to spill gracefully onto the rich, textured wood surface. The luminous white enoki mushrooms, slender and delicate, contrast sharply against the earthy, robust shiitakes, showcasing a harmonious balance of color and form. The muted background accentuates the organic arrangement, drawing the viewer's eye to the unique shapes and subtle variations in the mushrooms' surfaces. The clever use of lighting casts soft shadows, enhancing the natural beauty and realism of the scene. This artwork masterfully combines simplicity with elegance, capturing the viewer’s imagination and celebrating the understated beauty of nature’s bounty.
The bodegones are a pictorial interpretation based on a research project by famous chef Juan Carlos Franco, on ancient food recipes from different periods of history. The photographer recreated the images inspired by paintings and images from these eras, also drawing inspiration from artists such as Leonardo DA Vinci, Albrecht Dürer and others.
Other sizes: Large: 80 x 106.6 cm. Edition of 6, and Medium: 60 x 80 cm. Edition of 6
