Description

Direct printing with UV inks on Dibond, recessed frame. Namibia, Damaraland, Spitzkoppe mountain range arch, rock engravings of Twyfelfontein (6000 BC) and desert elephants. The Horizon in Your Eyes - An invitation to travel through images - Under this poetic title, Francis Leroy opens the doors to a universe where the horizon becomes the guiding thread of a nomadic gaze. Each image seems to freeze the suspended moment of an inner journey. We glimpse solitary silhouettes, horizon lines stretched like distant promises. These are not simply places traversed, but fragments of silence, contemplative spaces, where light discreetly caresses the very fabric of the world. The photographer does not seek to document, but to evoke: an emotion, a memory, a breath of infinity. The short text reinforces this purely visual, almost meditative experience. The viewer is invited to project their own story onto these anonymous landscapes, to rediscover a horizon they themselves might have once glimpsed. This silent portfolio functions as a profoundly human visual poem. Far from the tumult, "The Horizon in Your Eyes" reminds us that the journey sometimes begins simply… by opening our eyes.

Presentation

I pursue an unquenchable quest for beauty—not a static or merely aesthetic beauty, but one that awakens, touches, and resonates. Through my lens, I seek to reveal the emotion hidden in the moment, to bring forth the silence of a gaze, the grace of a landscape, the soul of a detail that can only be seen by taking the time to look differently.

My gaze wanders between sky and earth. It rises in aerial views that redraw the world—fields, shores, geometric rhythms—then descends again to the human experience, to the intimacy of a face, a gesture, an inhabited place. I play with textures, lines, contrasts, and light… to compose images that tell not only what we see, but what we feel.

Each photograph is for me a fragment of silence, a suspended breath. Whether it is a flight of birds, a lost path, a face encountered in an alley of Bhaktapur or a field of flax vibrating in the wind, I am always looking for the same thing: that moment when beauty becomes emotion.

I invite you to see things differently, to feel more deeply. To simply be moved.

My images do not seek to freeze reality, but to reveal what beauty whispers when it touches the soul: an emotion, fleeting, eternal.
