Description
Mixed-media Vintage photograph drawn on with pen and acrylic paint. Image size: 13.75 in. H x 10.75 in. W. Sheet size: 15.5 in. H x 12.5 in. W.
Leobardo Huerta creates priceless, unique pieces of art. His work is genuine documentation of the last and current century. The artist's work on vintage photos, portraits, marriages, and social events that he found at antique stores or at random town flea markets, he intervened them with different techniques such as pen, pencils, oil paint, collage, acrylic, Chinese ink, and other materials. This artwork is a striking synthesis of surrealism and abstract portraiture. The focus rests on a figure adorned with intricate geometric patterns covering the face, introducing an interplay of vivid triangles in red and blue, and contrasting black shapes embellished with celestial motifs. The expressive eyes are accentuated by bold, stylized lashes and an additional abstract eye on the forehead, enhancing the surreal quality. Swirling gold curls form a mystique aura around the head, infusing the piece with a whimsical element. The muted background emphasizes the vibrant colors and patterns, drawing attention to the complexity of the subject. The subtle, dotted texture on the collar contrasts with the dynamic facial elements, balancing the composition. This piece captivates through its imaginative and thoughtful use of shape and color, inviting viewers to delve into a world where reality and abstraction blur together.
