Blanco: from the Blanco Series. Sepia, 2017

Ricky Cohete   Emerging artists

For this series, he used elements such as water (emotions) to tell a story. He worked with the Blanco color in the fabrics to communicate clarity and rebirth. Cohete frequently plays with sepia tones in his works, embracing nostalgia for ancient archive sources. An omen to a tinted vision of a desert of sun-drenched sculptures illuminated by nature. Other sizes are also available.

This monochrome photograph captures the striking image of a male figure from behind, emphasizing the interplay of light and shadow on his muscular form. The man, draped in a strategically wrapped cloth, stands partially nude, exuding a sense of vulnerability combined with strength. The cloth, knotted at the waist, adds an element of dynamic tension, as if in the midst of an unfolding movement. The subtle grayscale palette enhances the contours and muscle definition, transforming the figure into a living sculpture. The composition is both bold and intimate, exploring themes of identity, human form, and the timeless beauty of the body. The use of minimalistic background draws focus entirely on the subject, inviting viewers to contemplate the harmony of body and spirit. This artwork is a compelling study of anatomy and the poetic interplay between concealment and revelation.
