Description
Meaning "Fleeting Memory" it unfolds a colour transition that stretches across the canvas like an inner horizon. From an intense red on the left to deep shades of blue and violet on the right, a gradient emerges that does not appear linear, but rather as if it were breathing — a colour space that expands, condenses and opens up again. In the centre, areas of green and turquoise glow, appearing like a fleeting moment of clarity before blending back into the surrounding colours. The artist works with a thick, physical brushstroke that brings the surface to life. Over the layers of paint lie dark, organic forms that appear like fragments of a memory — not complete, but merely hinted at. In the upper section, fine lines radiate outwards, almost like trails of light that reveal an inner impulse. The composition remains open, dynamic, and bears the characteristic naïve directness of his painting style. 'Flüchtige Erinnerung' is a painting that does not capture a moment but rather lets it pass by. It shows how the painter translates the day's experiences into colour: moments that briefly flare up, overlap and ultimately merge into a larger emotional space. A work that oscillates between cosmic vastness and personal feeling.
Presentation
The young painter Maximilian Nusch had his exhibition debut in 2026 with the Lukas‑Larsen Gallery. His works move between abstraction and interstellar landscapes, developed in a consciously naive, direct painting style. They are characterised by a dense, physical touch and intense use of colour, often presented in a neon-like, broad way. Black also plays a central role. In his paintings, the artist processes the day's experiences — both positive and negative — and translates them into powerful, emotional strokes of colour.
