Description
The theme of “Suspicious Society” is used to highlight a work of art that addresses the lack of freedom of expression in African countries.
The work “Suspicious Society” represents the fear and oppression felt by people who wish to express themselves freely, but are forced to remain silent due to social and political pressures on them. This work highlights the fact that in some African countries, freedom of expression is still considered taboo, and that individuals who dare to speak out risk being sidelined, or worse, repressed.
This work is important because it highlights the importance of freedom of expression in a democratic society. It highlights the efforts still to be made to ensure that every African citizen can express their opinions freely, without fear of reprisals. It also encourages people who feel oppressed to find creative ways to express themselves, in order to make their voices heard and contribute to building fairer and more equitable societies.
