Robin F. Williams is an American contemporary painter born in 1984 in Columbus, Ohio. She is known for her contemporary figurative painting practice, which questions representations of the body, gender, the gaze, and social constructs related to femininity. Her work engages in a critical dialogue with the history of Western painting, popular culture, and media imagery.

She studied at the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), where she earned a BFA in painting in 2006. This solid academic training allowed her to develop a technical mastery of oil painting , while also developing a conceptual approach to the image. Early on, she became interested in the representation of women in advertising, film, magazines, and art history, which she reinterprets from a critical and contemporary perspective.

Robin F. Williams's practice is characterized by powerful compositions, often centered on isolated female figures or those staged in ambiguous situations. Her characters seem to oscillate between autonomy and objectification, presence and imagined construction. She uses vibrant palettes, rich pictorial textures, and subtle distortions of the body to question the norms of perception and the mechanisms of representation.

Her work explores themes such as identity construction, social performance, the male gaze, and the psychology of the image. She plays with the codes of classical painting while integrating contemporary elements from digital and media visual culture.

She has exhibited in numerous international galleries and institutions, notably in the United States and Europe, and is represented by influential galleries in the contemporary art market.
