Description
This bold and vibrant work depicts “Bird Man,” a striking juxtaposition of a skeletal man with avian elements, and a suggestive musical theme. In the background, brightly colored wings accentuate the central figure, symbolizing freedom and duality. The words “Bird Man,” “Big Sky,” and “Symphony” are written in graffiti, adding urban texture and an intriguing narrative dimension. The carefully drawn double bass evokes a poetic connection between the music and the main character. The contrasting colors and bold application of paint create a captivating visual tension, inviting the viewer to explore the multiple facets and meanings of the work. The presence of abstract and textual elements underscores a contemporary and innovative perspective, making this piece a unique fusion of figurative art and street expression.
Presentation
Born in Paris, Klitystreet is a painter of Togolese origin. He became a mural painter, after a career as an international professional basketball player, he decided to devote himself to creation and develop his language with the world.
Atypical by his career, his painting is just as much. Self-taught, his work is both naive and brutal; his world entertains, surprises, moves and questions. It is in line with the neo-expressionist movement resulting from the rejection of abstraction and minimal art that is too intellectual and elitist. It is the return to the figurative, to the impactful color as well as to the full exploitation of the surface of the canvas and the painting.
