Description
This hybrid composition is situated between painting and mural sculpture. Three stylized silhouettes occupy the white space. The blue line, nervous and precise, delineates fragmented bodies.
The gaze circulates between graphic areas and colored flat areas. Geometric patterns and textual insertions are observed. A pale disk brings a luminous breath to the center of a figure.
The influence of raw art is manifested in the spontaneity of the forms. The characters seem to evolve in an abstract space. Chromatic contrasts oppose the coldness of blue to the earthy tones of ochre and red.
Realized in 198, this piece explores the deconstruction of the portrait. Each segment tells a distinct visual story. The whole forms a rhythmic dialogue between volume and surface. The work ends with fine graphic details on the light background.

Paul Flickinger, born in 1941 in Colmar in the occupied France of Haut-Rhin. Flickinger is an internationally renowned Contemporary Painter and Sculptor. He lives and works in Lorraine. His artistic career has been crowned with numerous awards and distinctions. The scope of his work makes him a twenty-first century artist. Its journey carries with it metamorphoses of splendor in which the disarming rusticity often joins an ineffable space. Paul Flickinger's works can be found in numerous collections and museums around the world.
