Description
This striking artwork is a bold exploration of shape and color. Dominated by a large letter "M," the composition skillfully uses blocks of vibrant color—red, blue, green, yellow, and orange—that overlap to create a sense of depth and dynamism. White, black, and colored horizontal lines intertwine in the background, creating a sense of movement and rhythm. Each geometric element is precise, revealing a technical mastery that immediately captures attention. The harmony between primary colors and geometric shapes gives the work a character that is both modern and timeless. This piece invites the viewer to reflect on the interplay between apparent chaos and underlying order, effectively representing the tension between uniformity and diversity in contemporary art.
Presentation
Born in 1950 in Vendée in France, Joël Chasseriau is a self-taught visual artist, graphic designer, engraver and master art printer living in Paris.
A graphic designer for over twenty-five years, Joël Chasseriau was inspired by contemporary art when he visited the great studios of today's visual artists. Delving into the worlds of Robert Combas, Erro, Peter Klasen and Bernard Pras gave rise to the desire in him to participate in this creative effervescence and to launch himself into visual art.
Geometry and instinct. The artist instinctively begins his canvases with a first colored surface, this determining the next, and so on until the artist is completely satisfied. His work with the material and his singular aesthetic sometimes recalls the Bauhaus graphics that inspired him at the beginning. However, the painter absolutely does not seek to represent: he does not represent, he creates.
A recognized artistHis work in geometric abstraction has earned Joël Chasseriau numerous solo exhibitions in Europe, notably in France, Germany, Estonia, Belgium, Sweden and Denmark, but also in Israel.
