Description
Dye-Sublimation on Aluminum
Bison is associated with strength, safety, bravery, durability, and respect. The body weight keeps Buffalo grounded and sure. The creature's shoulders can bear burdens with grace and balance. Bison's meaning and symbolism are very family-oriented. These massive creatures protect each other with communal diligence. When something threatens that unit, Buffalo goes into action and can be very dangerous until the restoration of balance. When Buffalo travels with you, remember to live in gratitude and stay true to yourself. Honor the gifts the Universe bestows and the lessons Bison teaches. - Marcin Owczarek
Presentation
Marcin Owczarek is a French artist, born in 1985. He studied photography at Wroclaw College of Photography and graduated with honors in "the best of the worlds" cycle.
The artist is inspired by the human condition in the post modernity era and new technologies. He focuses on commodification and standardization in order to portray a dystopian universe. The Tibetan "Book of the Dead" made an impact on the artist, since then he is fascinated by shamanism and spirituality. "I use photography and collage to create surrealist images, revolving around identity, dreams, science, the unconscious, morals, social facts, behaviors, rituals, climate changes, depression In the urban environment, as these aspects have made a major impact on human life ", explains the artist.
Marcin Owczarek's work has been exhibited in several fairs and collective exhibitions in art galleries around Europe but also South Africa and Argentina.
