Description
Original oil painting, 100% hand painted on canvas.

Titled Storm at Sea Under the Moon, this dramatic oil painting is an improvisation by Aivazovsky, honoring the iconic seascapes of Ivan Aivazovsky. The painting portrays a stormy night at sea, illuminated by the soft glow of the moon breaking through dark clouds. Waves crash against the rugged cliffs, their tumultuous motion highlighted by the silver moonlight. A solitary ship battles the towering waves, adding an element of tension and perseverance amidst the wild beauty of nature. The dark, brooding tones of the landscape contrast with the ethereal light reflected on the water, creating a powerful sense of movement and atmosphere. This piece masterfully captures the awe-inspiring force of the sea under a moody, moonlit sky.
