Description
Color screen print realized in 1980s.
Edition of 90.
Hand signed and numbered in pencil.
It depicts a stylized bride and groom walking along a country path, framed by dense, richly colored foliage and rolling fields beyond. The figures are rendered with the simplified forms, frontal presence, and gentle narrative charm characteristic of Generalic's mature style. The bride, dressed in blue and holding a floral bouquet, is accompanied by the groom in dark attire, their procession unfolding within a carefully balanced, decorative landscape.
A leading figure of the Croatian Naïve Art movement and the Hlebine School, Generalic is celebrated for his vivid color palette, folkloric imagery, and finely structured compositions that evoke rural life and tradition. This work exemplifies his ability to combine narrative intimacy with strong visual rhythm and ornamental detail.
