Description
This artwork features a whimsical scene that juxtaposes various elements, creating a surreal and engaging narrative of the story of Dulcinea and Don Quixote.
In the foreground, a figure in a red outfit and yellow boots rides a rocking horse with dynamic motion, evoking a sense of childhood nostalgia. The rider, determined and focused, holds a stick resembling a lance, adding an adventurous flair. In the background, a calm seascape includes a Viking ship with striped sails and a rider on horseback, suggesting an exploration of different eras and cultures. To the right, an enigmatic, statue-like figure evokes an Egyptian style, adding a touch of antiquity. The vivid colors and fine detailing draw the viewer into a playful world where historical and fantastical elements blend seamlessly.
This composition invites reflection on themes of exploration, imagination, and the passage of time, capturing the essence of dreamscape storytelling.
Presentation
Polish painter and graphic designer, Czeslaw Tumielewicz was born in 1942.
In 1968, he studied at the Architecture faculty of Gdank, before continuing his course at the Technical University in the same city, and then he taught there1994 onwards. He completed his training at the Fine Arts Academy of Poznan in 1978.
An exterior painter, Czeslaw Tumielewicz doesn't hesitate to take out his easel. He likes to be surrounded by moving nature and captures the variations of time quickly. Immensely inspired by his environment, he has a passion for mountains, especially sea but also architecture and individuals.
Always cheerful, his acrylic paintings are mostly colorful but they are also in black and white sometimes. Czeslaw Tumielewicz defines his style as "realism magic", he therefore portrays figurative art, but the scenes are sometimes unreal.
