Description
In this two-color silkscreen print, Raul shifts rhythm but not language. The composition unfolds as a controlled explosion of gesture and structure. Vibrant pink builds a dense, pulsating field made of repeated modules—an urban calligraphy, a personal alphabet multiplying until it becomes texture. At the center, the turquoise intervention breaks the pattern and asserts itself as the dominant gesture: broader, more open, almost a signature within the signature.
The tension between fullness and emptiness is carefully calibrated. Pink establishes rhythm and density, while blue introduces breathing space and visual hierarchy. It's a dance between saturation and balance, between pattern and symbol. The surface retains the material quality typical of silkscreen printing: slightly vibrating edges, ink grain, and the physical presence of color.
Printed on Fabriano artistic paper, the work measures 56 × 76 cm and is produced in a limited edition of 20 copies (with only 2 remaining). Each piece is signed and numbered by the artist.
Once again, Raul transforms his distinctive visual vocabulary into structure, rhythm, and identity. This is not decoration—it's system. Urban writing becomes contemporary composition.
Presentation
Raul was born in Pescara (Italy) in 1980. Gesture is the key element of Raul’s works.
Instinct, speed, color, emotional dirtying, passionate streaks, hugs of the brushstrokes. Everything matches with gesture which gets always immediate, hot, sudden.
The vision of this young artist from Pescara is pervaded by a variety of sensations which stretch the brain with a pincer, give gooseflesh with a shake, let swell with a cold shower and reflect the idea of infinite emerging from the en- counter with the other and his face.
Raul paints with a primitive speed since his painting is a way to materialize an emotion. So his faces belong to people he meets in his travels, the streaks are the streets he walks, the marker strokes are thoughts taking a place without support.
