Description
An iconic masterpiece of Post-Impressionism, Vincent van Gogh's offers an intimate, almost naïve glimpse into the artist's everyday life.
With "The bedroom vs pop culture", this iconic scene is reimagined as a mosaic composed exclusively of images drawn from contemporary pop culture.
Cult characters, media references, popular symbols and iconic imagery intertwine within every fragment.
Together, these references reconstruct the familiar space of the bedroom, creating a striking contrast between the original simplicity of the scene and the visual saturation of our time.
From a distance: the softness and balance of an intimate, instantly recognizable scene.
Up close: an immersive exploration of collective imagination and modern visual culture.
Printed in high definition on 5 mm PMMA plexiglass, the artwork delivers exceptional depth, luminosity and colour intensity. Its transparent edges create an elegant floating effect.
Every fragment is carefully selected, assembled and adjusted by the artist. Miquaseo's work is not generated by artificial intelligence.
The computer is used solely as a tool in the service of an artistic process and a composition entirely conceived by the artist.
Created in Miquaseo's studio in Saint-Paul-de-Vence, France, and printed in Italy, the artwork arrives ready to hang, with an aluminium mounting system included.
Each edition is numbered, features a printed reproduction of the artist's signature, and comes with an official certificate of authenticity.
A personalized dedication can be added to the certificate of authenticity upon request.
Presentation
My journey is visual, but my approach is almost musical. Composing a Miquaseo work is about working with rhythm, silences, ruptures. I am not an image engineer, I am a researcher of tensions.
I often work standing up, for long periods, manipulating, testing, moving every fragment of image as if it had weight. It is a form of active meditation. Nothing is automated. Each work is composed by hand, pixel by pixel, with my eye, my feeling, my doubts too.
I want to remain in this organic relationship with creation, without filters or artifice. No AI here. No magic algorithm. Just a brain, images, and the will to bring forth an unexpected truth.
