This is how Michèle Chast brings matter to life. His knife attacks her, cuts her, pierces her, shapes her. Little by little the contours of the work appear, its angles, its curves, its fullness, its hollows.
For this couple, each side tells its story, its embrace.
This work created in clay was molded to be produced in 8 prints and 4 artist's proofs.
The piece on sale is the 2/8 print in white marble-like resin with its black wooden base, made by the Antonio Carvallo workshop.

Presentation
Michèle Chast was born and works in Paris. After studying fashion design, she practiced drawing and sculpture on live models in the Beaux Arts workshops. The study of shapes and materials and his passion for Camille Claudel, Alberto Giacometti and Henry Moore, made him want to work with clay and bronze. His model: the woman, her body, her attitudes and more recently the couple. Since her beginnings in 2002, Michèle Chast's style has evolved towards purer and more contemporary shapes and style and gives her sculptures more movement and modernity.
