Description
This vibrantly colored skateboard is a true work of contemporary art, masterfully merging urban collage and graphic expression. The board immediately stands out for its bold and dynamic use of various visual elements. It features a variety of typography in successive layers, reflecting an aesthetic influenced by street art and the Dada movement. The colors are bright and contrasting: bright yellow, vivid pink and magenta, deep blacks, and bright white come together in a composition that is both chaotic and harmonious. The work functions as a visual palimpsest, where each element covers another, creating windows onto fragments of previous texts and images. The juxtaposition of torn pieces of paper, graffiti, and posters in various layers gives a sense of depth and texture, as if each piece tells a different story. The work of the textures, added to the worn aspect of the elements, evokes the ephemerality of urban art: what is visible today can be erased or replaced tomorrow. Presentation
Born in 1988 in Paris, Keny is a young passionate artist and actor of underground culture. Interested from an early age in the arts, especially those practiced in the street, he decided to devote his free time to the practice of urban painting. Like any self-respecting graffiti artist, Keny's first creations are made on walls and trains. Gradually his style evolves and his artistic practice turns to new media and new formats to approach more “conventional" things. But Keny is not a conventional artist and he claims it; he works on a wide variety of media ranging from traditional canvas to cardboard, including recycled materials or aluminum plates.
