Description
Bronze sculpture by French contemporary artist Marine de Soos, part of her series. This figurative piece portrays a small, smiling monkey and is available as a signed and numbered limited edition of 8, plus 4 artist's proofs.
The patina is handcrafted, making each piece unique. Marine de Soos draws inspiration from her memories of African and Asian landscapes, channeling the emotions they evoke. "I can only work when I am in an emotional state," she explains. Her sculptures invite viewers on a poetic journey, inspiring reflection and contemplation.
Presentation
Born in 1967 in Paris, Marine de Soos is a French sculptor.
Having spent a big part of her childhood in Africa, Marine de Soos gets most of her inspiration from this experience, specially regarding the representative force. When she returned to France, she started a career in marketing. But in 1991, she decided to give up her career and consecrate to sculpture.
She creates pieces transcribing the knowledge she gained while in Africa and the East. Marine de Soos take us on a timeless journey to the heart of knowledge. In a human shape, her sculptures show simple scenes that seem to summarize our joys and our hopes of a better future.
