Description
This modern artwork uses a minimalist space to evoke deep reflection. A slender, copper-colored ladder rises in the center, topped by a vibrant yellow disc, contrasting beautifully with the neutral hues of the room. The illusion of simplicity is accentuated by natural light flooding the space through large windows, creating intriguing shadows and playing on surfaces. On the floor, colorful objects are scattered, adding a touch of liveliness and inviting the viewer to interpret their meaning. This ingenious arrangement provokes questions about elevation and perception, perhaps symbolizing a path to clarity or revelation. The choice of materials and colors, as well as the interaction with the environment, make this installation a captivating and introspective work, engaging the audience in a silent dialogue.
Presentation
Pauline Beck is a graduate of the Beaux-Arts de Paris.
Her practice spans from orchard to studio, connecting interior and exterior spaces, humans and non- humans, with a deep interest in interweaving forms of knowledge.
Through shaping, printmaking, writing, and vernacular techniques—such as distillation, archiving, and seed banking—she celebrates landscapes and their stories in sensorial works where the everyday and the anecdotal sustain a reflection on the disappearance or reemergence of universal narratives.
She is currently collaborating with the French National Museum of Natural History on a research project about seeds,
She has also worked with the CIAV in Meisenthal and the Coubertin Foundry.
Her work has been shown in various venues, including Le Voyage à Nantes, L'Atelier Blanc, and CAC Meymac.
