Description
The artist on the work: In this “Scrap Bird," I wanted to capture the most instinctive essence of a bird that searches, scratches, and leans toward the earth. The body, woven from rusty latticework, reflects both the fragility and resistance of time; a reminder that what industry discards can rise again in another form. The thin, outstretched legs delicately support a structure that seems ready to collapse, but remains firm, like nature facing the passing of the years.
The beak and crest, forged from metal fragments, mark the bird's identity: rough, sharp, imperfect, but full of character. This sought-after imperfection is what gives life to the work, for the bird does not seek to be realistic, but sincere. Here, there is no artifice, only scars of fire and hammer, traces of a process as visceral as the animal instinct I am trying to evoke.
Ultimately, this piece is a tribute to the humble and the rejected, who, by uniting, acquire dignity and a voice of their own. A metallic song made of rust, memory, and rebirth.
The artist on the collection: Byluka's "Scrap Birds" are born from scrap metal, from the constant recycling that occurs in nature. Iron extracted from the earth, melted down, manufactured and then discarded by industry, now transformed into art.
This is my creative process: changing, unpredictable, raw and natural, guided by the sensations that emerge during the very act of creation.
What remains are the hammer marks, the welding scar, vestiges of the origins and the journey of the material towards a new form.
The raw material for my work, scrap metal, comes from very diverse places, each piece carrying an anonymous story, laden with rust and silence.
A gardener's old sickle, hand-forged by a blacksmith, a gear from a Galician sawmill, a nut that crossed the ocean before getting lost and that I found on the beach, an old broken pair of pliers, given as a treasure by a neighbor, a tractor part, rounded by years of caressing the land of Extremadura... Endless stories that flourish in the "Scrap Birds".

Unique Work
Presentation
ByLuka is an emerging Spanish artist born in Zafra (Extremadura) in the year 2003.
Using recycled iron, he forges original and unique sculptures that come to life from his hands, often exploring nature with great expressiveness. A notable example is his piece "Inner Gaze," depicting a Black Heron creating shade with its wings to spot fish during fishing.
Passionate about both photography and sculpture, he captures both in his art. This young artist creates stunning photographs, occasionally made available to select collectors as they are unique works not produced in a series.
Undoubtedly, after careful analysis, the work of this emerging artist is unique and will undoubtedly appreciate over time.
