Description
This captivating work features a wooden sculpture of a serene woman with closed eyes, symbolizing a deep connection with nature. Her hair transforms dramatically into winding branches adorned with delicate leaves, creating a harmonious fusion between the human form and the plant world. The branches extend gracefully, resembling a natural crown that emphasizes the symbiosis of life and growth. The realistic wood texture subtly captures the facial features, adding an organic and warm dimension to the piece. The intricately detailed leaves, with their varied hues, bring vivid authenticity to the work. This unique sculpture invites reflection on harmony with nature, encouraging the viewer to contemplate both the inner and outer beauty of our existence. A masterpiece that embraces both simplicity and depth.

“Tales, myths and legends inspire me a lot. They convey images that are both rich in meaning and mysterious. The association between man and animal in particular and more broadly nature has always fascinated me. But tales and myths also interest me for their inexhaustible power of suggestion. In essence, they evade representation, they activate the imagination from canvas to canvas. They are linked to the experience of painting which is perpetually mutating. »

“…At the end of a branch, above a shoulder, below a dress, a cat, a bird, a hare... Faithful companions of play and meditation.
A box, a vial, a mirror, a flower... so many mysterious accessories which give us a clue to follow Maria's red thread on the paths of her imagination and her thoughts.
Complicity, interiority, silences, secrets, enchantment, appeasement, serenity, spirituality, how many precious words come to me traveling in Maria's painting.
