Description
This artwork fuses pop art with humor. Dominated by vibrant shades of pink and turquoise, it depicts a chewed-up bubble gum with a central illustration. The face of Andy Warhol blowing a bubble immediately draws the eye, while the text "Tattoos" emphasizes its rebellious character. Just below, a transparent box holds three small, colorful paint boxes, suggesting an irreverent juxtaposition between art and consumption. The striking dollar sign on a pink background evokes the contemporary commodification of popular culture. This piece stands out for its ability to challenge the viewer, inviting reflection on the commercialization of art and the ephemeral nature of modern life. By associating elements of daily life with artistic references, the work reveals a subtle but incisive commentary on current society.
Presentation
Born in Paris in 1971, Rakel Wajnberg lives and works in Boulogne Billancourt, close to Paris. Rakel Wajnberg draws and paints since her early childhood. Passionate about fashion, drawing, traveling and most of all painting, she uses canvas to share her passions with her viewers.
She studied fashion at the Esmod school and this is where she took the habit of not throwing anything, as everything can be reused one day: a button, some pins, an old piece of lace. Rakel Wajnberg creates works of art centered around iconic figures of cinema and fashion such as Paul Newman, Marilyn Monroe, Al Pacino, Brigitte Bardot, Sophia Loren, Serge Gainsbourg, Kate Moss.
How to immortalize them? With great joy, the artist uses different mediums to allow the imagination to travel with the help of different supports and techniques... She wants to touch the viewers, to stir emotions in them, the nostalgia that lies in every one of us. She creates visual flashbacks. Rakel Wajnberg's new works use an iconic signature: the Malab'art's.
