Description
This captivating sculpture depicts a childlike figure, emanating poetic serenity. Crafted from high-fired earth and glazes, the work features subtle hues of blue and brown, evoking a sense of calm. The figure, with closed eyes and rounded lips, appears to be in deep contemplation or song, adding a dreamlike dimension. The hands delicately placed under the chin accentuate a posture of meditative reverie. The meticulous details of the garment, with fluid and slightly metallic textures, offer a harmonious contrast with the softness of the face. This unique piece perfectly illustrates the art of capturing innocence and wonder, while blending emotions and refined aesthetics. Each element contributes to an enriching visual and emotional experience, making this work a true testament to contemporary craftsmanship.
Presentation
In the silence of my studio, far from the noise of the world, I shape my little clay figurines with the desire to preserve a naive and narrative universe in their texture and finish, very human and far from a smooth and modern aesthetic.
I seek a form of childlike sensitivity tinged with seriousness in their faces, their postures and their gazes.
The pieces I model are most often coloured with patina, engobe or oxides. However, I prefer high-temperature glazes (1260 °C) because they give the final piece a very special softness.
