Chambre 015, 2025

Baptiste Tavernier

“Chambres" by Tokyo-based artist Baptiste Tavernier is a reimagining of the classical "cabinet of curiosities" for the digital age. Each piece serves as a futuristic reliquary—a unique vessel designed to frame and preserve an artifact from a specific era.

Part archeology, part science fiction, the collection creates a physical space for memory. Merging advanced 3D printing technology and found objects with cyberpunk aesthetics, the result is a work that feels like an artifact preserved by a future civilization.

Perfect for collectors of contemporary sculpture and speculative design, each Chambre is more than just a frame; it is a modern vessel for preserving memory in a digital age.

This artwork is a striking fusion of natural and technological elements, prominently featuring a lifelike jellyfish encased within a shadow box. The jellyfish, elegantly suspended in time, is crafted with precision to mimic the delicate translucence and fluidity of its real-life counterpart. Its tentacles, intricately detailed, suggest a seamless blend of natural form with circuitry, evoking a sense of bio-electronic synthesis. The backdrop, reminiscent of a futuristic circuit board, frames the jellyfish in a manner that highlights its ethereal beauty while suggesting a connection between nature and technology. The frame, with its industrial design and subtle buttons or lights, adds to the cybernetic aesthetic, inviting viewers to ponder the relationship between organic life and mechanized environments.
