Description
In this work, the macaron becomes much more than a simple treat. Its perfectly circular shape is adorned with black and orange marbling reminiscent of the veins in onyx or the movements of a lava flow. The colors seem to glide into one another, creating an impression of depth and movement unexpected for an object usually associated with lightness and transience.
The famous French biscuit is reimagined here as a sculptural object, oscillating between pop art and contemporary design. Its apparent softness contrasts with the visual power of its dark and flamboyant hues, transforming this symbol of pleasure and refinement into a bold and sophisticated piece.
Through this game of metamorphosis, the artist invites us to look differently at an everyday object, giving it an almost precious dimension, where indulgence, luxury and art meet in the same creative impulse.
Presentation
Mahëlle, born in 1990 on Reunion Island, is a young self-taught artist living between Paris and Marseille.
Passionate about everything related to creativity for years, she takes advantage that the world is brought to a standstill to put herself in an artistic bubble in order to perfect her imagination and realize her dream. It was then that she created the "Chocolate box", a chocolate bar transformed into a real jewel, the association of gluttony and elegance.
Art adds real beauty to the lives of those who are sensitive to it and this serves as a source of inspiration.
