The Glazed Gazer, 2026

This ceramic sculpture captures a playful energy through its bold forms and vibrant palette. The figure suggests a stylized creature with a prominent orange beak and a rounded body. A deep periwinkle blue dominates the surface. This color is interrupted by a rhythmic grid of dark lines. Small orange circles act as focal points within this geometric pattern.
The glossy glaze enhances the saturation of the pigments. It creates a luminous effect that plays with light across the curved surfaces. The posture is dynamic. The creature leans forward with a sense of curiosity.
The contrast between the organic shape and the structured pattern creates a visual tension. This balance reflects a modern approach to figurative pottery. The smooth finish emphasizes the tactile quality of the clay. Every curve is deliberate. The artwork blends whimsical inspiration with precise execution. The composition is grounded by the weight of the ceramic material while maintaining an airy spirit. The vivid orange accents provide a sharp counterpoint to the cool blue tones. This creates a lively chromatic harmony. The piece stands as a study in color and volume.
