Biography
Piotr Szeminski.
He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw at the studio of prof. Stefan Gierowski.
Together with A. Bakowski, Mme Guminska, Piotr Kasprzak, Janina Kowalewska-Tarnowska, Ryszard Owczarek and Marian Czapla, he has co-founded "Symplex S4" group in 1974. These were attempts made by young graduates of the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts in search of combining the traditions of Polish colorism and unism of Wladyslaw Strzeminski.
Piotr Szemiski is the author of the publication "Matisse.la couleur: une approche de la peinture française au XXème siècle", published at the Musée des Beaux-arts in Nantes, the Louisiana Museum and the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Brussels (1986-87).
