In this work, naive playfulness meets quiet resilience. The heroine, dressed in polka dots, seems to have stepped out of an old film — part actress, part observer of her own life.
"Polka Dot Game" tells the story of women who, in pursuit of pleasure, recognition, and freedom, enter risky games. Sometimes losing themselves — and sometimes, finding themselves.
Here, polka dots are more than a decorative pattern. They become a symbol — at times a mask hiding fatigue and hope, at others a gesture of ironic self-awareness: “Yes, I know I'm playing a part. And that's okay."
Pearls, traditionally linked to femininity, appear scattered — like memories, broken threads, or pieces of lived experience strewn across the stage of life.
But the heroine is far from fragile. She plays her part with grace, wit, and quiet strength. Her role is a conscious choice.
This painting speaks to the fine line between seduction and self-deception, between performance and reality. About how outward lightness can become both armor and an act of openness.

Presentation
Olena Kishkurno was born in Ukraine in 1976.
She graduated from Kharkiv State academy of design and arts with a master's degree as a restorer of easel and monumental painting. Since 2022 lives in Germany.
Olena is an artist who explores the changes in humans resulting from the clash with the digital world, their integration into this realm, and subsequently, the loss of connection with their original essence.
The main mediums are painting and graphics. Works with oil painting, watercolor, acrylic, mixed media.
