Description
“Drowned in stupid talk, saved by good music" is a philosophical art object created in a retro-inspired style with elements of pop art and minimalism. A vintage black vinyl record, covered in expressive white brushstrokes, features a hand-painted phrase that turns music into an act of salvation. At the center, a painted record with an open mouth seems to scream from within the silent chaos.
This piece speaks to the feeling of being overwhelmed — drowned in shallow chatter, surface-level information, and meaningless noise — and how real music can become the only rescue, pulling us back to ourselves. Here, music isn't background — it's a force that revives, shakes, and fills with meaning.
The object balances irony and depth, tension and simplicity. The vintage record becomes more than just an item — it's a visual manifesto, resonating with anyone who's ever felt that only music could say what no one else could.
This artwork can be displayed as a sculptural piece or hung on the wall as a bold visual statement.
Presentation
Kristina Mallen, a painter with a background in oil and acrylic mediums.
Her recognisable style infuses the sophistication of Art Deco, the pop of Pop Art with a dominant focus on the female figure, manifesting elegance and eroticism. Her work exudes the extravagance, classical chic, and charm of women, striking a balance between provocation and the sublime.
