Description
This captivating sculpture depicts a charging gorilla, inspiring awe and fear with its raw power. The work's composition, dominated by pure white, is subtly disrupted by splashes and streaks of black, adding drama and contrast. The facial features are precisely sculpted, displaying a striking roaring expression. The robust arms and legs, accentuated by a glossy black finish, reinforce the impression of strength and movement. This bold choice of color evokes a dynamic and modern effect, challenging the traditional conventions of animal sculpture. The artist masters the juxtaposition between the apparent serenity of white and the aggression of black, capturing the conflicting essence of wild nature. This work not only exposes, but challenges, prompting reflection on animal power and our perception of nature.
Presentation
Born in 1979, Mr. Mollotov is a self-taught artist fascinated by portraits. His ultra realistic paintings are painted with an airbrush, a technique in which he excels. His technique combining shades of gray and play of shadows reveals impressive 3-dimensional portraits of realism.
