Biografía
Barry Cawston, nacido en Londres en 1966, es un fotógrafo británico reconocido por sus impactantes imágenes que fusionan arquitectura, paisajes y retratos. Licenciado en Sociología por la Universidad de Leeds, estudió fotografía en el Kitson College de Leeds entre 1989 y 1991. Su obra se distingue por un enfoque casi pictórico, donde la luz, el color y la textura revelan una poesía visual única.
Cawston ha ganado numerosos premios, incluido el Premio Presidencial de la Exposición Abierta de Fotografía de la Real Academia del Oeste de Inglaterra (RWA). También ha expuesto en prestigiosas instituciones como el Palacio de Mármol del Museo Ruso de San Petersburgo, el Völklinger Hütte en Alemania y el Museo de Oldenburg. Su proyecto principal, Threads, A Tale of Two Cities, compara las históricas ciudades textiles de Manchester y Kanpur, combinando el documental social con la arquitectura.
Instalado en Axbridge, Somerset, dirige la Drugstore Gallery junto con su socia Soraya Schofield. Su práctica fotográfica abarca series como Ecos del Arboreto, ¿Ya llegamos? (un viaje a Dismaland de Banksy) y Rusia: Lejos del Blanco y Negro, explorando la belleza de lugares a menudo olvidados con una calidad cinematográfica.
