Biography
Danielle Winger is an American artist living and working in Indiana.
For her, the mountains become places of ascension, interiority and grace. The desert is indifference. The anthropomorphic trees light up in the moonlight, are reflected in the water that has no boundaries but still keeps the memory. The wild and untamed landscape arouses a primitive desire to enter it, to associate with it, to know it intimately.
Seeking solace in empty places, she creates intensely personal portraits of quiet, meditative spaces that encourage contemplation, reflection, and the search for self, sublimity, and the divine.
With more than 10 years of presence on the North American contemporary art market, where she is represented by 2 renowned galleries (Red Arrow and Vision West Contemporary) where she produces acclaimed solo shows each year, Danielle Winger has become international in recent years, with a noted solo show at the Seizan Gallery in Tokyo in 2024 and at Hoxton Gallery in 2023.
