Biography
Chloe Trujillo is a Los Angeles-based visual artist, designer, and musician who creates works imbued with a strange spirituality and joy. Her refreshing and heartfelt work features a unique combination of eclectic motifs drawn from ancient Aztec patterns, skulls, flower eyes, birds, and pop culture icons like Uncle Sam. The artist has embellished various canvases and everyday objects with her intricate, colorful designs, and we can see Chloe Trujillo's intense and vigorous works on canvases, accessories, skateboards , and guitars.
Chloe Trujillo grew up in Paris surrounded by art. Her parents were fashion designers and her grandparents were classical musicians. As a result, the artist had a childhood filled with music, art, and design. Interestingly, however, art wasn't the first choice for talented artists when it came to education. She was drawn to science and studied the structure of matter and quantum mechanics, but ultimately gravitated toward art. Her colorful, spiritual works draw inspiration from a range of human experiences, colors, vibrations, and life. The artist creates her works by tapping into the very essence of creativity and letting words, images, and text flow before spilling onto her canvas. Her work has been exhibited worldwide in numerous group and solo exhibitions in Paris, Los Angeles, and San Francisco.
Her long hair has become the artist's trademark over time and inspired her line of custom accessories: silk scarves. Just like her canvas works, the scarves are created by taking the artist's most notable motifs, such as skulls, flowers , and birds, and transferring them to high-quality Italian silk. Following an exceptional reception from the fashion world, Chloé Trujillo created her own accessories brand, accompanied by bags, clutches, and bikinis. The artist has also collaborated with the famous brands Vans and DC Shoes to create custom-made sneakers. Her fashion pieces represent the expansion of her work into new media while maintaining the same joy and sincerity as her beautiful artwork. Chloé Trujillo's images can also be seen on skateboards and guitars, which she often embellishes for her husband, Robert Trujillo, the famous bassist of the famous Metallica band.
In addition to being a visual artist and fashion designer, Chloe Trujillo is also a musician. Her love for music dates back to her childhood, and she has spent years performing in bands, cabaret, rock operas, and off-Broadway shows. Her music is steeped in a variety of influences, including a blend of metal, gypsy music, rap, and blues. She has collaborated with various performers and composers and is currently working on her first solo album.
